Note: If you want to get directions through Google Maps (http://maps.google.com/) or a similar site, type in: Bethlehem Pike and E Mill Road, Flourtown, PA. See below for directions from that intersection.
Do *not* use the address on the park site -- that will take you to the park office, not to the Flourtown Pavilion, where the Summer Social is.
FROM PHILADELPHIA & SOUTH JERSEY: Take Rte. 76 West to Rte. 476 North. Get onto the Pennsylvania Turnpike going east. Take exit 339, the exit for Rte. 309. Skip to “From the Turnipke” below.
FROM THE SOUTH (Delaware County, Chester County, & New Jersey south of Philly): Take 476 North to the Pennsylvania Turnpike east. Take exit 339, the exit for Rte. 309. Skip to “From the Turnipke” below.
FROM THE WEST (northern/western Chester County, western Montgomery County): Take either 202 North or 422 East (whichever is closest) to the Pennsylvania Turnpike going east. Take exit 339, the exit for Rte. 309. Skip to “From the Turnipke” below.
FROM THE NORTH (eastern Montgomery County, Bucks County) AND CENTRAL NEW JERSEY: Take your best route to the Pennsylvania Turnpike and go west. Take exit 339, the exit for Rte. 309. Skip to “From the Turnipke” below.
FROM THE PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE: Take exit 339, the exit for Rte. 309. Once you go through the tollbooths, keep left and go straight -- do not get on to 309, either southbound or northbound. That lane will turn into Pennsylvania Ave. Follow this road past the train station. The road comes to a T intersection. Make a left onto Bethlehem Pike. Follow Bethlehem Pike south approximately three miles into Flourtown. At the Texaco station, make a right onto West Mill Road. The entrance to the Flourtown Day Use Area is a hundred yards or so down on the right. Park in the parking lot and follow the paved trail to the picnic pavilion. We’ll see you there!
TAKING PUBLIC TRANSIT Unfortunately, there is no easy way to get to this site via public transportation. The closest regional rail stop is the Ft. Washington station on the R5/Lansdale line; from there, you would follow Bethlehem Pike south for three miles, as outlined in the directions above.
