DVPN Board Meeting 1/18/06

1. Minutes from last meeting approved.

Morgan will post on site.

2. Membership Committee

Members are busy working on updating/contacting our list of local groups. More discussion to follow at membership committee meeting on 1/26.

3. Newsletter

Work on Spring 2006 is progressing; expected mailing/distribution date in mid-February. Franklin reports enough money in the DVPN account to cover the printing.

4. Outstanding expenses

Franklin was authorized a $500 reimbursement for Fringe expenses. Bob to sign check.

5. Pagan Pride

Subject to approval from the main Pagan Pride office, Franklin will take over as local coordinator for Philadelphia Pagan Pride. The current plan is to close off a section of street somewhere near South Street and have a series of public rituals there, held by different groups, on different nights. That will culminate on Pagan Pride Day with an encore performance of some or all of the rituals. Franklin is in the process of approaching different groups to ask them to participate. To support the festival financially (to make it free for the public), there will tentatively be a “dessert and divination” fundraiser prior to Pagan Pride, also open to the public.

6. Summer Social

General agreement that there was a strong need for a social event geared toward Pagans rather than the public. Morgan volunteered to coordinate Summer Social in cooperation with the Membership Committee.

7. New Board Members

Franklin to follow up.

8. Broom Closet

Proposal is that Broom Closet site will migrate to the DVPN site, so George doesn’t have to pay separate hosting fees and also others will be able to access and update the site if needed. George will discuss with Ellen.

9. Speaker Nights

Bring in authors and other speakers to promote their books, get people together, and possibly raise money for DVPN (depending on speaker). Diana volunteered to do more research into these and work on organizational stuff. Diana, Bob, and Franklin to meet with Robin’s Bookstore to discuss possible collaboration on this and other projects.
