DVPN Board Meeting 11/15/05 revised 11/30 with board comments Those present: Morgan Beard Bob Bruhin Franklin Evans Three Blade Jaguar George Reinhart 1. Minutes from last meeting approved with revisions. Morgan will post on site. 2. Phyllis’ expenses from October talk approved; we will pay her $210. 3. Kali Diana Morgan, Passional Franklin spoke to her on the phone; she’s interested in doing an exchange of promotions -- she promotes our events, we promote hers. May involve an advertising exchange, although not advertising in the newsletter. She also wishes to participate in the discount program; nature of discount to be determined. General agreement that this was a good arrangement. 4. Solitary Pagan Association Organization becoming active again under impetus of Elena McReynolds, John Romano, and Wayne Massey. They are organizing a Witches Ball for next year at Samhain. Bob proposed doing some sort of collaboration with them on this event. Three Blade to contact SPA to see if they’re interested, will proceed from there. Franklin excused self from any dealmaking. 5. Crystal Ball Three Blade reported very little response to queries for help. General agreement to put the Crystal Ball on hold indefinitely. 6. Finances Balance in checking currently $1,000. Expenses are $210 for Phyllis as mentioned above and $150 for Winter Solstice. Newsletter cost was $503.93 (tax incl.) plus $104.53 postage for an 8-page newsletter. Eliminating non-past-members from mailing list est. bring cost for future down to $550. Morgan to e-mail board with limit of how much she can contribute to each newsletter printing for planning of future issues. 7. Membership Two new memberships in past month for total of $80. Membership committee meeting in early December to develop plan of action (organizers are Three Blade and Morgan, with four other potential members). Will begin to collect phone numbers on membership forms. Franklin offers self as speaker to go visit various groups and organizations. Board should develop speaker list (of DVPN board members) on topics where members have some expertise and publish same on regular basis to remind groups of availability. President of DVPN to be primary outreach to other organizations. All board members allowed to volunteer Franklin for visits or speaking engagement (after checking with Franklin’s schedule). 8. Winter Solstice Franklin working on flyers. Press release to be mailed in late November. Third location not yet determined. 9. Pagan Arts Initiative Web site will soon be up. Bob will invite certain artists to participate in beta version of listings in exchange for free annual membership; after that, listings will be paid.             |
