Present: Three Blade Jaguar, Bob Bruhin, Franklin Evans, Helena Domenic Last meeting’s minutes were approved with corrections. Discussion of advertising for Crystal Ball 3 Blade presented several publications in the Philadelphia area as possible avenues for advertising: Passional, New Visions, Philadelphia City Paper If we spend $450 on advertising, would need 12 people to come to Ball. Board felt comfortable with spending $200 on advertising. City Paper seems like the best avenue. Will need votes from absent board members. We would also like to talk to Passional and get DVPN on their ‘radar screen.’ Newsletter Recommendation to scale back the newsletter came from Franklin, so that we will have more money available for advertising. Possibility of removing some listings from the Broom Closet – taking out two pages from newsletter would reduce amount we spend on it. Possibility of charging $5.00 a year for full listings, $10.00 for full newsletter. Decided against shortening newsletter – it is a way in which we promote DVPN and our events. We need to beef up the team creating the newsletter. Pagan Pride Discussion Discussion of holding it in Clark Park – better venue. We would like to be able to put up a tent. Also discussion around a location in Olde City. We would prefer to be near Independence Mall for greater visibility. Pride date proposals: 9/4, 9/5, 9/11, 9/12. The earlier dates fall during the Fringe Festival, which would be to our advantage, the later dates fall during the East Coast Thing, which would not be to our advantage. If we want to move to Clark Park, we will need to act quickly. Board Applications We have two. We need to interview them. Witches’ Ball Bob is spearheading a plan – has some new connections. We are still seeking a charity partner. Can we approach the environmental center? We do all the work, we give them 50% of the profits.             |
