Present: Franklin Evans, Bob Bruhin, 3Blade Jaguar, George Reinhart, Nancy Lebowitz, Helena Domenic
Minutes from the last Board Meeting were read and approved.
Fringe Reports: Dionysus: we did better then break even. We had 55 advance sales for all 6 performances. We need to re-imburse Franklin about $400. Our net profit was $150. Stan and Michelle were very happy with the results and are willing to do something again next year. We could possibly do Dionysus again, or do another adaptation. We got about $1500 - $2000 worth of publicity for free through working with the Fringe. We will need upfront money next year to do it again – about $200.
Thanks to George and Franklin for their hard work! We need to give thanks to William Way, B. Sunday, and Garrison Keillor. We have a tape of the performance to be mastered onto DVDs. Franklin getting 10 made – will give copies out as thank yous. We now own the lighting from the show – can be used at Winter Solstice.
Pagan Pride 2004: 100 attendees We really need to change location next year – Clark Park was proposed as a possibility. We will do it on 9/10 or 9/11 depending on location availability. George to find out about Constitution Center. Can we get musicians for free? Helena to type proposal for the November meeting.
Crystal Ball Planning: First meeting to occur on Sunday, 10/3, at 1PM at Morgan’s Cauldron. Helena and Franklin to report back on our progress.
Blood Drive: George considering giving up on the Blood Drive. Only 2 are signed up for the 10/11 drive. Franklin encouraged to continue promoting it for now. To consider for us: There was a Bloodmobile at the NYC Pagan Pride Day.
Environmental Update: Mark sent 3Blade an email. Are there any dates? Bob and 3Blade will confirm. Once we have dates, Helena will send out emails to lists and DVPN announce.
AIDS Walk: October 17 – a Sunday What about drumming? We’ll know when the next meeting is called. Franklin will be there regardless. Not much left to do but promote.
Winter Solstice Update: Rehearsals have begun – 2 performances: 12/18 and 12/21 No venue yet Recommendation of going to the Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus and doing a third date at William Way. 3Blade would like to see 1 urban location, 1 suburban location & has a list of 5-6 possible locations.
Newsletter: New ad rate schedule with 20% discount if full year bought ahead Proposal on the table to do free craftsperson/vendor listing – possible Pagan Artisan’s Guild – could do well for DVPN. We can’t currently join the Arts and Business Council as DVPN
Discussion of new proposal ensued – bottom line is, we need ads in order to get more ads. We will make business card sized ads for vendors who do not have store fronts as a one time only offer.
Website info: Bob stumbled across software called Mambo – a content manager. We could use it to all post content to the website without HTML. We could keep our own calendar without worry of anyone hacking it. Would enable us to post forums, put up a store and would cost up no more then we are paying now. Bob to do demo for us to check out.
Membership Brochure: From 3Blade, will be done in a few weeks. Using design of Clark Park brochure as a guide. Karen to be tapped for photographs.
