The bi-weekly meeting of the Delaware Valley Pagan Network (DVPN) was held
on Thursday, September 9, 1999 from 8pm-10pm at the Maple Garden Chinese
Restaurant.
In attendance: Bob Bruhin, Raffaella, and Paula. And a warm welcome
to: Roxanne Greye, Pete Scherer, Jennifer Eastep, Maria Bazzao, and Denise
Wright.

mail, as we all felt people may still use that address instead of the new
ones.
Newsletter Articles: Only submissions so far have been from Jay. Tonights meeting generated ideas and possible articles from the following: Bob A write up of the Summer Social Maria B. Greco-Roman Paganism Denise Paganism on the web Pete A holiday recipe Jenn A cooking article Roxanne Pagan Parenting Newsletter Calendar: Bob will update the calendar closer to the date of publishing the next issue. Advertising: The group agreed to accept advertising for this issue and the rates will be as follows (as copied from an e-mail received from Raffaella this evening.) For 3 months, online and in the printed version: 1/8 page $40 1/4 page $60 1/2 page $100 Full page $160 Paula will contact Cindy at Kindred Spirit and Terry Wilson regarding
possible advertising. Bob also suggested we contact the Light Expo.
Summer Social Wrap Up: Bob agreed to write the wrap up story for the newsletter. We are waiting
for Christine to turn in the pictures.
Website Bob and Raffaella both stated that the website has been continually updated. There have been a number of suggestions of possible additions to the website. Such as: possible seasonal topics or holiday articles. The bookstore. This has been tabled for a future meeting.
AIDs Walk Its October 17. If you havent signed up, please do so. Maria S. will give an update at the next meeting. Raffaella agreed to contact the Fairmount Park Commission again regarding
a picnic site for after the walk.
Philadelphia Cares No one was able to commit to being able to attend this. It has been tabled until next year. Pagan Pride Bob advised everyone that the offers go out in November and that a decision must be made. He is already on their mailing list and will sign us up when we get the offer. The group agreed to sponsor the event in Philadelphia next year. And
that we will begin preparing for it once we have the formal offer.
Crystal Ball The Venue: Paula sent out the information to the group about using the Ethical Society in an e-mail on 9/8/99. Due to the cost ($1000.00 for the whole day), the group decided against this venue. The group agreed on William Way. Raffaella will make arrangements for us to take a walk through the location next week. The Masquerade Ball: The group agreed to hold a contest to determine the theme of the evenings masquerade ball. The contest will be posted on our website and advertised in the newsletter. The winner will receive an as yet to be determined prize. Dinner: It was agreed there will be a potluck meal prior to the Masquerade Ball. Vendors: Raffaella advised that there seemed to be enough room for 3-6 vendors. Merchants to be contacted: Kindred Spirit, our own Nancy, and Ellen of Greenleaf Herbal and the Broom Closet. There will also be lectures, discussion groups, and talks in the afternoon.
Open Discussion Paula updated everyone on the West Chester Solitary Practioners. There is a potluck on 9/18 and a womyns circle on 9/25. Denise and Roxanne updated the group on events at Church of the Three Witches. At the 9/23 Mabon celebration there will we an outer court initiation. Please contact Ann Duckworth if you are interested. On 9/25 there will be a Full Moon circle. It starts promptly at 8pm. The first intuitive tarot class of the fall will be on 9/15. Please register in advance. The church is also accepting applications for first degree initiation. Handwritten applications must be received no later than Yule. Please contact Ann for more information. Bob reminded everyone that following the ritual at Hand of Aries, there
would be a drumming circle at the Art Museum.
