The Delaware Valley Pagan Network (DVPN) was founded in 1999 as a secular organization that would help support the Pagan community of the Delaware Valley.

DVPN's primary goal is to help Pagans in the area find each other and share resources. If a local coven is sponsoring an open gathering, we help to promote it through our online network and newsletter. If a bookstore is having a special author event, we would also help them promote that. We hold public gatherings designed not just to bring Pagans together, but to allow members of the public to see what we do.

Along those lines, DVPN recently launched the Pagan Arts Initiative (PAI). This sister organization to DVPN is focused on promoting Pagan-themed arts, whether or not they're created by Pagan artists. The PAI is sponsoring two events in 2005: Electra, an adapatation of the play by Euripides, which is part of the Philadephia Fringe Festival in September (see press release in this packet); and our annual Winter Solstice Celebration, a ritual in song and story performed by the Solstice Singers.

Another aspect of our mission is charitable work. We hold a food drive in conjunction with Pagan Pride Day, and have also sponsored blood drives and winter blanket collections for the poor. We've also hosted teams in the AIDS and MS walks, and are constantly on the lookout for other opportunities to reach out to the broader community of the Delaware Valley.

DVPN's ultimate goal is to buy or build a Pagan community center in the Philadelphia area that local Pagans of all paths can use as a meeting space, a place to do ritual, a classroom, and generally as a focal point for community activity and support.

DVPN is a federally recognized 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. Our area of operation is Philadelphia and the surrounding counties (Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, and Delaware), central and southern New Jersey (Mercer-Ocean Counties and south), and the state of Delaware. We also cooperate with groups outside the region, particularly in the Washington D.C., Baltimore, and New York metropolitan areas.
