The month of June is sacred to Juno, the Queen of the Gods. She is a protector of women, children, and the sanctity of marriage. It is no coincidence that even today June weddings are so often preferred. June is a good time to consider love and relationships.
If you are interested in bringing into your life a long-lasting love or a potential life partner, then at the noumenia of June (the time when the crescent first makes an appearance after a dark moon), place together on a square piece of white cloth (preferably of natural fibers) the following: a strand of your hair, a small piece of emerald, two white rose petals, some dried lemon peel shavings, an apple blossom or small twig from an apple tree, and a drop of jasmine oil.  Tie the cloth closed with a white ribbon or piece of yarn and place under your pillow along with a peacock feather. Before going to sleep, light a tea light candle anointed with jasmine oil as an offering to Juno and say the following three times:
"By the light of Juno's moon above, She will bring to me true love."
If you already have a long-lasting love in your life, then demonstrate your love with an easy to make ricotta cheesecake:
6 large eggs
2/3 cup sugar
2 tsps. vanilla
2 15-oz. containers whole-milk ricotta cheese
2 tsps. grated lemon zest
Handful of powdered sugar for dusting
Gossamer Hawk Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Oil a spring form pan. Separate the eggs, placing the whites in a separate bowl. Beat the yolks with the sugar until thick and then add the ricotta and zest and beat until smooth. Beat the whites on high speed until they hold stiff peaks. Fold the whites into the ricotta mixture and scrape into the pan. Smooth the top with a spatula. Bake for about an hour and 20 minutes. The cake should be a deep golden brown, and the sides should begin to pull away from the pan. Let cool on a rack and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
