Note: The following is a summary of candidates' positions on some key issues. We're including only Senate candidates because there are just too many candidates for the House of Representatives to put them all here. Likewise, we only included Senate candidates from the Democratic and Republican parties, although each state has at least one more on the ballot (New Jersey has nine). Pennsylvania Robert Casey Jr. (Democrat)
- Has called for Rumsfeld's resignation over Iraq, but does not support a deadline for U.S. troop withdrawal
- Opposes abortion, but supports contraception including the "morning after" pill
- Supports alternative fuel sources and energy conservation, opposes drilling in Alaskan reserve
- Supports "amnesty" for illegal immigrants
- Former PA state treasurer, has a history of fiscal responsibility
Richard Santorium (Republican - Incumbent)
- Supports "staying the course" in Iraq and stronger measures against Iran
- Opposes abortion, and also contraception like the "morning after" pill
- Supports drilling for oil in Alaskan reserve and offshore U.S.
- Opposes "amnesty" for illegal immigrants
- Supported a compromise bill on stem cell research
New Jersey Thomas Kean Jr. (Republican)
- Has called for Rumsfeld's resignation over Iraq, but does not support a deadline for U.S. troop withdrawal

Jan Ting (Republican)

- Supports President Bush's plan for alternative energy
- Wants to make Bush's tax cuts permanent
- Supports building a fence on the Mexican border to keep out immigrants
