Minutes of the board meeting held 5/17/06 Those present: Morgan Beard Bob Bruhin Franklin Evans Diana Grayfox Nancy Lebovitz George Reinhart Three Blade Jaguar 1. Minutes from last meeting approved. Morgan will post on site. 2. Hands of Change picnic organizational meeting to be held June 4. Bob and Franklin tentatively willing to attend on behalf of DVPN. 3. Board meeting to be moved to second Wednesday of each month, effective in June. Board members to submit suggests for location to the board list. 4. Newsletter Summer 2006 issue successfully printed and mailed. Distribution in progress. Cost of printing = $629.91 (print run higher than usual due to summer festival season) + $78.88 postage (stamps plus bulk mailing) for a total of $708.79. Ad revenue for one half-page ad plus three quarter-pages = $280. Morgan formally requested that ad revenue go to reimburse her for printing; board in agreement. Morgan to send text of articles and a low-res PDF to Bob to post on the site. Morgan to remind TBJ in July to contact advertisers about social notes. Deadline for next issue is the middle of July. 5. Pagan Pride Day Probably going to be similar to last year. Band Bob and Franklin discussed bringing in, Emerald Rose, fell through due to high expenses. Franklin to contact Kali and getting permit to close easternmost block of Passyunk. Events on the day to potentially include a drum circle, Diana’s dance troupe. Franklin to contact local groups about doing ritual performances. 6. Membership Morgan put announcement of new rates in newsletter. Will also compose e-mail to send to lists. West Philly Pagan Potluck had a good turnout, 10-12 people. Will continue holding it. 7. Summer Social July 16th, Ft. Washington State Park, Flourtown Pavilion. Morgan extended invitation to local groups to participate, is working on seminar lineup. Basic info page online, Bob to make it public so people can access it from the DVPN main page. Morgan to check on dog policy. Pagan Arts exhibition going forward, will be organized by Pagan Arts Initiative. 8. Pagan Arts Initiative Bob working on web site marketplace. Arts calendar up. Send ideas for development to Franklin. 9. New Board Members Franklin to follow up and find new people. Agreed to change DVPN bylaws to allow board members to be inducted at any time, not just at annual meeting in February. Franklin will compose wording and post to list.             |
